So, I wanted to make this public before I started getting questions about it all, but Luke and I have split up. We had a really good run of a two-year relationship (he finally broke my two-year curse! lol), but we have recently decided that it would be best if we went our separate ways. I don't know if it's truly easy for either of us, but we've been discussing the matter for the past week ... and then some. It feels that it may have been an inevitable end to it all, but circumstances may have blinded us from the beginning. Regardless, it was really fun, and taught me some wonderful things about friendship, relationships, and life in general. :)

I, personally, seeing as I get attached very easily to people, have taken it upon myself to try to give us some time away from each other. I still love and adore him as a person, but--for my own sanity, really--am going to attempt to keep us apart. Granted, we both have our school and work lives to worry about, so we'll be doing the best we can. For example, I may not be around the house as often-- I have a multitude of wonderful friends in every corner of Orlando, I will be trying to find sanctuary with them, hehe.

In all honesty, this will be for the best. This was the first relationship for either of us that was this involved and, in all honesty, this good chemistry-wise, so it's taught us both a lot of things we can use later on for others, and we're both going to end up making two people very happy. ;D And we we're also going to end up being very awesome friends! We just have to make sure we take this time to heal so that the wounds don't hinder us later. <3

So, I'm openly posting this because, while we were mutual in the decisions for the most part, I'm also the most emotional (most female, of course ;) so I'm probably gonna need just a little bit of help. :) And, for that, I call to you, my bodacious friends~ you know me best, I have the ability to crawl out of any situation with my head held higher than even before, so I will be doing just that. I just might need a little help along the way. Thanks ahead of time! lol

In the meanwhile, the only thing this really directly changes at this point is that I will very likely not be making that trip to NY for New Year's-- which, while I was very much looking forward to it, will be good because it means I can spend the holidays (and my birthday!) with even more of my family and friends than I would have. <3 The options are limitless.

So, as this semester begins, I'm half-involved in anthropology classes and half-involved in linguistics classes. Naturally, I'm 5/6th of my way into getting my B.S. degree in anthropology, so there's no way I'm changing that this late in the game; I've been in this boat for the past year or so, and I've come to terms with it. However, for those who don't know by now, linguistics is what I truly want to continue with. I have a retardedly fun relationship with the English language, and I love sentence structure, morphology, and generally tearing grammar apart. I discovered my love for it while in school, though; by that point, I was well into the anthro degree and, thus, my position was created. To quell the love of the subject, I took up the linguistics minor and left it at that.

However, it's getting ridiculous. I talk with my UCF mentor almost weekly (who happens to be the previous head of the linguistics program at the school), I read journals every few weeks, I look back at old papers, I geek out with other students. I'm in love with linguistics. I want to pursue it so badly, but I'm somewhat worried it may be too late.

But I have a question in all of this.

I'll have an 18-credit minor under my belt from UCF when I graduate. I've taken all the basic courses: Principles of Linguistics, History of the English Language, Modern English Grammar, Language and Culture, etc. With this information, can anyone give me any information at all about possible taking my minor degree and going after a second Bachelor's degree? It seems the only two state schools in Florida that offer the degree program are University of South Florida and the University of Florida. I have a better chance of getting into USF than UF, but I'm confident with my GPA I can do either. Is it possible to take those 18 credits and have a head start on a new Bachelor's program? Will the general education classes I took at the beginning of UCF transfer over? Any information at all is much appreciated. <3

Also, along these lies, aside from the thesis paper I'll have completed by the time that I graduate, does anyone know any school-related "buffers" I can use to help my chances in graduate school or even the second degree? My mentor, Dr. Bowie, has been helpful with contacts and schools I can get ahold of, but it's not time for me to move out of Florida just yet. I'd like to know some suggestions I can do in the meantime.

It's been a while since I life-updated! ;3

Just finished with German II at UCF! ^O^ That means my foreign language requirement for graduating is finally over! That makes me spectacularly happy 'cause it was something I think I was subconsciously putting off out of some weird fear, lol. But now I only have six classes left in my major before I am completely done!! Wanting to somehow graduate in the fall, but I don't think that'll happen, so my FINAL goal is May 2010!! ♥ Pretty good for taking off two semesters total and changing my major five times, ne? ;3

Got into Halloween Horror Nights!! ^__^ ♥ Haven't gotten any real information on my role, but I do know I'm in a house! They're telling us the info in codewords, so I'm not sure on much else other than that and I'm Cast A. XD; But soon, soon!! Rehearsals will be starting in September, I'm ridiculously excited!!

Jade is doing a neat video project involving my housemates, some friends, and I~ it's a neat mix of UFC, stage combat, and interesting weapons! I can't participate in the first round since I'm still recovering from my dislocated knee, but he's letting me be an interviewer/sportscaster with the same character-- and my character's going to be injured so she has an excuse to wait a round! ;3 We have a meeting this Sunday, so more to come on that!

Still reading Animorphs!! @.o; I got beyond where I read as a kid, so this is really fun for me now! I'm on #34 right now, a Marco book. Realizing that these books get SO dark as they go on, lol!! Megamorphs #3 was ridiculously brutal, especially for kids' books! But they're just that much better now! lol (Ace of Base always reminds me of Rachel, for some reason. Coincidental that it just came on now!)

Luke and I are doing fantastic! We'll be hitting 2.5 years this month. <3 Unfortunately, the poor boy has been working so much, so I don't get to see him all that often anymore. A little bit in the morning and a few hours in the evening. But the distance has done its job and-- well, absence makes the heart grow fonder, lol! I'm grateful everytime he comes home and I get to give him a big hug, or make him dinner, or we get to play a game together or somesuch. ♥ Dragon*con is coming up so that'll be a great vacation for us both!

Speaking of games, Vince managed to introduce me to AION, a new MMORPG coming out in September! I went ahead and preordered so I could join the beta, and it's awesome!! I think it could be the new WoW in my life, haha, since I gave up that poor game back a few months ago. (I miss it from time-to-time. ;___;) I'm thinking I'm going to be an Asmodian Spiritmaster, for anyone else who's gonna play! :3

Trying to get back into a workout routine while my knee heals; been doing a lot more strength than cardio, but--aside from getting onto a stationery bike, which we don't have here--there's not a lot of cardio I can do. It's healing, though! I was given a pair of adorable rollerskates the other day, so I can't wait to hop on those once I feel confident in the support of my knee. Good times!!

So, my lease at this house ends on June 15th. I can't move into our new place until July 1st. So that leaves me stranded for about two weeks or so. Normally, I could go hang at my mum's place, but I have school and work here in Orlando, so it's gotta be in town. Unfortunately, I'm extremely shy when it comes to asking for favours, so I figure I'll be a total chickenshit and post an entry here and see if anyone can help. ;__; So, the primary question is-- does anyone have a couch or a spare room or anything I can crash in for about 15 days? I can pay a bit for the space usage and whatever utilities I would use up, but I otherwise swear I'll make it best that you hardly even notice I'm there. ♥ I'll have school in the mornings and work in the afternoons (cough if they gimme hours cough), so I'll do my best to be out of y'all's hair.

I'll keep comments screened in case anyone leaves contact info.

The only requirement is that it's within the UCF area of Orlando. I'll even take Universal side if I have to, but UCF area is the closest to school and work, so it's the place that I prefer. However, I doubt I'm in any position to be picky, so whatevs! lol ♥

I had an adventure yesterday! ^_^

At our show rehearsal for the weekend, in the last ten minutes of Sunday, I decidedly dislocated my left knee. I wish I could say I was doing something epic and manly like being kicked in the shin or dive-rolling over a corpse, but I was instead ... doing a simple lunge. Sort of. And I took an awkward step back, and rolled the knee in the wrong direction-- and, lo, dislocation. Yelped out of pain. Fell back on me bum. Pulled knee back and accidentally re-popped it back in. Screeched like a banshee. Whispered our "oh shit" safety word quietly because my breath had been knocked out. It must have been a slightly entertaining scene, in the end. :x

Anyway, Luke's mum took care of me and got me in to see a doctor for free. He did some gentle manhandling of my swollen tennis ball of a knee, said he couldn't figure much out until that swelling went down; got an x-ray done to find out there was nothing wrong with the bones. That was kinda it. Wrap it, put ice on it, elevate it, keep the eff of it, and see what happens. I've been told it can either heal itself in a couple of days, or it could take weeks, depending on the severity. And I won't know the severity until the tennis ball in my leg goes away! lol So I am patiently bedridden at home. ^_^

I might keep an update going on in this journal since I've got castmates who may be interested and it's the easiest way to keep 'em updated. :x *shakefist* I told Seth tonight that if I had to go into rehearsals this weekend on crutches, I would crutch-walk my chorography! I will be a war-wounded catgirl! Aisha won't be knocked down by a knee injury, that would be anti-Ctarl-Ctarl of me! 8D;

/sigh lol

I waver between keeping up a happy face and being deathly heartbroken-ly nervous about how this might effect my weekends.

Anyway, day one has come and gone, and, so far, no improvement. I realized, though, that the main reason I can't put any weight on it is not necessarily because of the pain (although that is present and sucks :x), but more because the knee doesn't feel like it can support me. It feels slippery and wobbly and I get this feeling I'll collapse. It's bizarre and kinda hard to explain, but I wanna bring it up when I see the doctor next. The pain is ridiculous, though-- I figured it would have gone away by now, lol. What doesn't kill me only makes me stronger, right? Right. Sonofabitch.

For now, bedtime. ^_^ We'll see how it looks/feels tomorrow!
